The Pittsburgh, PA Branch of Hike it Baby was started in fall of 2014, and quickly gained momentum as we hiked throughout the winter that first year. Because of all the hills, there’s a surprising amount of green space within the city and nearby areas, most of which is perfect for hiking with younger hikers, for beginning hikers, or just to get a quick dose of nature when you don’t have all day to travel. Of course, there’s plenty of opportunity to hike further from town and to find some more challenging hikes in area. We cover a large area and welcome folks from all over the region to join our community and share their favorite places to get outside.
